Hasek was great in Czechoslovakia and the world championships top goaltender and had great games in the Canada Cup series... in the 1980s. He won the Stanley Cup in the 2000's. He was NO flash in the pan. His peak was Everest but his career was the Himalayas.

Hasek is top 25 in NHL history for game played in the regular season, 15 in wins in a 16 season career. Late start, but he played in the NHL until he was 43.
That more than say Pekka Rinne, Kiprusoff, Kirk McLean, Hextall, Parent, etc...

He was the highest-scoring player on his team in year 2 & 3 by far!
He went on AFTER THAT to four 90-point seasons.
He scored 60 goals one year in Washington. He scored over 50 the year before. He 7 times scored 30 goals or more.

Roman Cechmanek was the scariest goaltender on the planet for a brief flash. I remember being in middle school in 2001 and the Sabres were my life then and all I thought about for a week straight was them having to face Cechmanek in the opening round.
I believe ESPN The Magazine had a cover article on him as he was on an absolute heater from the All-Star break on for that season.
Then we played him and he just crumbled.
But that season and then again, somehow, in 02-03, were quite high peaks. He just came into the league late and left not long after but for a hot minute, he was dominant.
